Being yourself may be easier said than done. Of course, it's a paradox, right? Because you're always you. But sometimes we compromise or get out of balance. Sometimes we believe and dream ourselves to be something different than what we really are. Sometimes our ego won't let us let go. There exists so many distractions from the confidence of us... Of being fully ourselves.
I have a friend who constantly seems to live vicariously through his other friends or characters he creates in story writing. Although the things he does is great, he doesn't seem to want to identify himself with the house mouse side of himself~ or, if he does, he is beating himself up. What he seems to not know is how wonderful and nice he can be and is already. But I probably am not going to be able to help or fix anything here, because, frankly, nothing is broken. He is perfect... I just want to see him ... Happier. Aligning your values and desires with your actions is an act of courage. And it takes consistency and earnestness ~ kind of like in yoga. One must have an earnest and regular practice to deepen, to develop. Emphasis on practice. We are our actions ~ these sets of actions are who we become. They are our habits. No condemnation here, after all... Habits can change with mindful transformation. Begin your happiness project ~ what would yours look like? How would you release your anger, fear? How would you live your best life without falling into "bad habits"? Here is one way to start: http://www.happiness-project.com/get-started/get-started/ I have enjoyed following the thoughtful messages, hope you will also... That's all for now. Namaste.
