About
Michelle LeBlanc has been fascinated with food since youth. As a daughter of restaurant owners who made everything from scratch, she's been bitten by the entrepreneurial bug and desire to make delicious things. When her children were young, she quit the public accounting firm she worked for and opened a home day care. Five days per week, with the help of an assistant, she planned and prepared healthy, colorful snacks and meals for 12 critical audience members: the children.
"One of my own favorite memories in childhood is peeking over the counter when mom was making apple pie or cookies. I loved the fun table top meals like shabu-shabu and sukiyaki where we could make our own choices about vegetables and proteins so that was what I wanted to emulate. When we would make tacos or pizza or makizushi, I'd lay out all of the vibrant ingredients and they were empowered to have fun and be creative. There were no bad choices since everything was fresh, organic, healthy.
As I've moved on in life, the flavor profiles of some dishes occasionally were more sophisticated, but the basic philosophy of my cooking preferences have remained the same. I like to keep my meals whimsical and full of life!"
